Why I started BodyStats
BodyStats began with one person stuck on the same plateau, and the tests that finally explained why.
The plateau
I knew how to get in shape. I ate well and trained hard. But every time I got to about 170 lb, progress stopped.
Regular DEXA scans showed me why. Around 170 lb I was losing more muscle than fat. Once I changed my training and nutrition, I finally broke through, building muscle while losing fat.
Tracking my VO2 Max did the same for my fitness. I went from never running to a half marathon in under 2 hours, and hiked to Panorama Ridge.
If these tests could help me, they could help anyone. So I opened BodyStats on Carrall Street in Gastown, to make them affordable for everyone.
