Book a Scan

Services & What We Offer

We offer three core tests: DEXA body composition scans, VO₂ Max testing, and Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) testing. You can book them individually or as a combo. We also offer a digital strength assessment. See our Services page for details.

A detailed body composition analysis — body fat percentage, lean muscle mass, bone mineral density, visceral fat, and more — broken down region by region. See a sample report here.

Yes. Every DEXA scan includes whole-body bone mineral density data, showing where you fall in terms of normal, osteopenia, or osteoporosis. Included with every scan option.

Vancouver Gastown uses an assault bike. Toronto offers both treadmill and cycle ergometer testing. All locations use the VO2 Master analyzer and are equally accurate — though cyclists may score slightly higher on the bike, and runners on the treadmill.

Yes. Plan for about a 1-hour appointment. You can also split tests across separate visits.

Our Vancouver Gastown and Toronto locations use the Hologic Horizon W. Our Vancouver Yaletown location uses the GE Lunar Prodigy. All are modern, medical-grade DEXA scanners.

Our mission is to make advanced health tracking available to everyone. We keep prices low and focus on volume so more people can benefit.

No referral needed. Anyone can book directly through our website.

Booking & Appointments

Book online at bodystats.ca/scan-me. Select your test, date, and time. Bookings must be made at least 2 hours in advance.

A standalone DEXA scan takes about 10 minutes (the scan itself is around 6 minutes). VO₂ Max tests run about 24 minutes. RMR tests are about 15 minutes. All three together take about 1 hour.

Generally no. We recommend booking online to secure your preferred slot.

Use the reschedule link in your confirmation email. You can reschedule for free up to 2 hours before your appointment. Changes made inside that 2-hour window carry a $15 fee. Need help? Email hello@bodystats.ca.

No-shows forfeit the slot. If something urgent comes up, reschedule online as early as possible — anything done more than 2 hours out is free, and inside that window is a $15 fee. We’d much rather you reschedule than no-show.

Each person needs their own appointment. Book consecutive slots, or use our back-to-back DEXA option for pairs. We also offer group rates.

Yes — we accommodate groups of 4 or more for teams, events, and fitness clubs. Check our group rates or message us to arrange.

Check your spam/junk folder. If it’s not there, DM us on Instagram (fastest) or email hello@bodystats.ca.

No strict minimum. We’ve scanned teens as young as 13. Minors should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Shorts and a t-shirt are ideal. Avoid metal jewelry, zippers, and heavy belts. For VO₂ Max testing, wear athletic shoes and workout clothes.

We suggest not eating for about 2–3 hours before your scan. For the RMR test, fasting is more important as food can inflate the result. Water is fine.

That’s fine. Just wear the same items every time you scan so your results are comparable. Metal shows up as bone, but consistency across visits keeps your tracking accurate.

It’s safe to wear during the scan. In rare cases, X-rays can interfere with diabetic monitors (insulin pumps / CGMs), so please verify your readings are still accurate after your scan.

Our scanner accommodates most body types, including larger individuals (300+ lbs). Message us if you have specific concerns.

We recommend waiting 7–14 days after a CT scan or MRI before getting your DEXA.

For body composition, 2–3 months is a good interval. For VO₂ Max retesting after a training block, about 6 months.

Results & Reports

Results are emailed within minutes. Each test (DEXA, VO₂ Max, RMR) is sent as a separate email. You can also view everything anytime on your Results Dashboard.

Check spam, junk, and promotions folders. If not there, DM us on Instagram or email hello@bodystats.ca — we’ll resend right away.

Yes. Results reviews can be done virtually — just book a Results Review appointment online and we’ll send a video link.

Fitness trackers estimate VO₂ Max using heart rate algorithms, which can be significantly off. Our test directly measures oxygen consumption and is far more accurate. The good news: consistent zone 2 cardio 4× per week can improve it substantially.

Contact us with the correction and we’ll update and reissue your report. You can also update some fields (like ethnicity) directly from your Results Dashboard.

Yes — email us and we’ll send the raw Hologic PDF alongside our BodyStats report.

Absolutely. Send us your name and approximate appointment date and we’ll email a fresh copy — or log into your Results Dashboard for instant access.

Safety & Health

Extremely little — about 1/10th of a chest X-ray, roughly the same as a short-haul plane flight. Well below any threshold associated with health risk.

No. Hologic recommends not getting scanned during pregnancy. Please reschedule for after.

Yes. No additional risks or protocols for breastfeeding mothers.

Certain medications can affect your ability to reach true VO₂ Max. We recommend consulting your physician before booking.
