If you’re coming from outside Toronto, the Lakeshore West GO line (Hamilton, Mississauga, Oakville) drops you at Exhibition Station, ten minutes from the studio.
What the appointment looks like
Same flow as our Vancouver studio:
- Check-in (3 minutes). Technician confirms your details and walks you through the appointment.
- Change (3 minutes). Private changing area. Wear something metal-free.
- Scan (7 minutes). Lie still while the scanning arm passes over you. No tube, no noise. Radiation dose roughly equivalent to a one-hour flight.
- Results walkthrough (15–17 minutes). Full report on screen — body fat, lean mass, visceral fat, bone density. Every number explained.
Total appointment: 30 minutes. You leave with a PDF and online dashboard access.
Why Liberty Village clients keep coming back
The neighbourhood is dense with people who care about body composition — runners using Lamport, F45 and Equinox members, Bay Street folks home from the office. We see clients in three patterns:
- One-time baseline. Curious about their numbers, want a benchmark.
- Quarterly tracking. Active fat-loss or muscle-gain phase. Re-scan every 8–12 weeks.
- Athlete monitoring. Distance runners, triathletes, weightlifters tracking lean mass and asymmetries.
For the first group, $29.99 is roughly the price of two coffees and a sandwich at the corner café — easy first step. For repeat clients, our subscription is $20/month with unlimited scans, which works out to roughly $13 per scan if you come quarterly.
What you walk out with
- Total body fat percentage with absolute fat mass in pounds.
- Regional breakdown — fat and lean mass in each arm, leg, and trunk.
- Visceral fat (VAT) — the metabolically active deep abdominal fat.
- Bone mineral density with T-scores and Z-scores.
- RMR estimate derived from your lean mass.
- Percentile bands against age-matched and young-adult populations.
More than the PDF
Most Toronto clinics hand you the printed PDF the Hologic scanner generates by default. We log every scan to your BodyStats dashboard so you can pull up your last six scans on your phone and watch the trend over time. We compare you against other clients on the same scanner — removing cross-clinic variance — and our BodyStats Insights quiz translates your scan into personalized next steps.

Pairing with VO2 max or RMR
The Toronto studio runs the same VO2 max and RMR testing as Vancouver. If you’re already coming in for a DEXA, adding a VO2 max test is a 45-minute extension that gives you cardiovascular fitness data alongside your body composition. See our packages for bundled options.
How to compare with other Toronto options
Liberty Village isn’t the only place to get a DEXA scan in the GTA, but most alternatives charge significantly more:
- Studio Athletica (Toronto): $85, sports-medicine clinic.
- Bone Wellness Centre (Broadview): Pricing not public; medical imaging.
- GNMI (Toronto): $300 for whole-body composition.
- Hospital-affiliated radiology: $300–$499, often requires referral.
Same Hologic scanner family used at most of these. We charge less because we built the business around DEXA — and added the dashboard, peer comparison, and Insights layer the others don’t have.
